First DIY: Missalette... and Others

Missalettes

Well... I'm not exactly done yet and have not yet officially started on the DIY portion. I did however start and finish the typing of the missalette in word document. I just copied the hard copy provided by Mt. Carmel.

While typing, I kept on imagining what it would be like on the day itself: the bridal march, the song list, the candles, the veil and cord, the saying of vows, the ring and arrhae... In other words, I was being sentimental again!

Anyway, back to my first DIY project... I have talked to my dad about my concept of the missalette: to have our pic (B&W) in the cover (I got this idea from the Knot website) OR just a nice looking rusty-autumny hard paper I will buy from Marj (of Carlos). He told me that he didn't dig the picture thing, and preferred a more classic design... Hmm... point very well taken.

Invites

We also discussed a little bit about the invites, and I told him that the invites are courtesy of Fernwood (done by V-Craft). I have talked to Susan and Yolly last year about my intention to just upgrade it a bit (emboss the words and probably have a double envelope). I planned to use abaca paper as cover, but my Dad thought the paper looked like cotton candy. Hahaha! So I guess I would have to push through with using the same hard paper for the missalette for the invites cover. Either that or organza paper... I don't know. If I get lazy then I'll just settle for the unadorned invites.

Favors

At the beginning of our wedding preps, Enrique and I decided to have sandalwood fans OR candles as favors. Early this year though, I have thought of giving minicakes as favors c/o Judy Uson. But lately I have been thinking of just going back to our original plan of giving pears and apples candles wrapped in sinamay, the sandalwood fans an additional (if we still have the budget for it). Enrique reminded me that his cousin is a candlemaker, so we can just ask her to make those candles for us.

Anyway, the next step I guess is to meet with Marj regarding the papers, and also show her the swatch Veluz has given me for my wedding gown.

Loungerie Lux for Honeymoon

Last Sunday I went to the mall to buy some bathing suits for this summer's events: company outings, family get togethers, overnights, etc... I checked out U Swimwear, and there was this really nice and sexy deep purple maillot that I wanted. Unfortunately, the only size is SMALL, and no matter how much I tried to fit in my former plus-size (I was an XS before), I just couldn't squeeze myself into it.

I then checked out the items in Billabong. All were two-piece bikinis and some tankinis. However I was hoping to get a maillot so as not to be too revealing in our company outing...

Anyway, I went to Chocolate to check out Loungerie Lux, and I really eyed a couple of items. The fit of this deep purple piece was reeeaaaallllyyyy sexy, and I knew that this one is neither for regular beach bumming nor for company outings... Imagine this maillot with a plunging U-neckline beaded w/ torquoise stones (down to the waist!) which will really really show off any cleavage, somewhat cutouts in the sides of the waist area to show off a defined waist, and is almost backless.

This piece however is good for one thing.... honeymoon attire! It would be a really pleasant surprise for my Enrique! Hehehe...

Our Honeymoon!

Wow! I got really excited upon confirming my booking reservation for our honeymoon! :-D

I know, I know... it might be too early for some... But after all the fuzz about wedding preps, I am really looking forward to the wedding itself, the honeymoon, and the life together. Jen of Eric joked me if I was looking forward to the vacation or the "s3x".... Hehehe... I initially said "of course, the vacation." But after two seconds, I added... and of course, the s3x too! Hahahaha!

Nami Private Villas

Anyway, I am really really pleased with my accomplishments so far. I was able to meet our budget for our honeymoon. Now I couldn't help but imagine us by the beach, relaxing in our private jacuzzi while sipping champagne, spas, and of course.... hehehe.
