Winter Days...

I should be happy today because today is the 2nd year since Enrique and I first met. I am happy, but then this happiness is dampened eveytime I remember that he will leave for work anytime this week. That would be 7 1/2 months away from each other.

My winter season is coming to a close... Sigh.........

Pamamanhikan

Finally! Enrique and his family went to our house for the pamamanhikan. We had planned this ever since he came back from work (November 2005), but it kept on being moved due to the holidays and also the request of his mom (she needed to go to the dentist and work on her teeth, hehehe).

His family consisted of: Enrique, his mom, brother, sister, and niece.

My family consisted of: Me, my Mom & Dad, my sister, 2 brothers, Lola, Ninang (from Canada), Tito, Tita and cousin, whew... a lot from my side!

Pineda - Martinez family

I invited my Grandma since she is the same age as Enrique's mom - for conversation purposes (good thing I did, they went along really well). My Ninang was there too since she will be part of our primary sponsors. Both of them stayed in my Uncle's house, so I invited them too because my Uncle was the one who brought my Ninang and Grandma to our place.

Anyway, everything went well. The morning of, we even had a little drama, to the point that we questioned whether we should continue with our wedding plans or not. Good thing we came to our senses... we became even more in love with one another during and after the pamamanhikan.

We went a little modern, because instead of Enrique's family cooking and bringing the food, we hired a caterer to do the job. What we did was when Enrique's family arrived, that was the time that the caterer set up the buffet -- at least it signified his family bringing the food to our home.

The food! Yum yum!

*Sigh* I'm so happy because now everything is formalized. The only thing that is bringing me down a bit is that Enrique will be leaving first week of March. I just try to think that t's ok, and the next time we meet, I will be officially known as Mrs. Enrique Pineda Jr...

Now that is something I am really looking forward to. :-D

To Blog Again...

Wow! Time passed so fast that I never even thought that my last post was ages ago!

Now I'm beginning to feel that need again to update and post here because in a matter of two weeks, Enrique will be away again. He will return on October. Sheesh, those two months before our big day will be so hectic!

Anyway, what have we done so far? It's actually a combination of preparing for the wedding and scouting for a place to stay when we are finally wed. Actually, we focused more on looking at houses and units, rather than on wedding preps!

With regard to wedding preps, we have finally booked the following:

1. HMUA - Angie Cruz
2. Strings - JJS Entertainment
3. Bouquet and Ento Flowers - Mang Boy Mahusay
4. Entourage Gowns - Tet Hagape

Enrique finally saw Fernwood, and he totally loves it. He got sentimental and teary-eyed when we went inside the chapel and tried to walk down the aisle. *Sigh*

As expected, he loved the food of Josiah's, although we have yet to taste the actual food they will serve.

Regarding the flowers, our initial prospect was someone else, and we were supposed to sign the contract already. However, we just went to Dangwa for fun, and lo and behold... Enrique was so amused with Mang Boy that he decided that we should get him. He paid the DP on the spot!

Enrique was really hands on with the preps, and I'm so proud of him. Even though during these past months that he was here, we had a couple (a lot actually) of arguments, it made our bond stronger (I hope!) and at least we had an idea already on how it would be when it comes to dealing with these kinds of matters (finance, decision-making, preparations, etc...).

But right now, we are focusing on our latest event... the pamamanhikan! Enrique is so scared but I told him not to worry, my family (and the whole clan) accepts him as part of the family.

All for now, and hopefully I would update regularly, like before!
